Child Support in Arizona is set using a specific formula. An experienced family law attorney should be able to provide at least an estimate of what child support will be. The primary factors in the calculation are each party’s income, the number of parenting days for each party, which party pays for medical, dental, and health insurance for the children and how much, and if there are any child care expenses.
The parties are permitted to agree to a child support amount different than what results from the calculation. However, the parties must show that the deviation is still in the children’s best interest.
